Financial Summary
For the nine months ended 30 September 2005, sales increased 8% to $7.7B. Net income decreased 3% to $483M. Revenues reflect strengthening of foreign currencies, increase in selling prices across most businesses and higher volumes. Net income was offset by higher selling & administration expenses, costs related to the impact of hurricanes Katrina & Rita and aftertax charge of $4M for net legal & insurance settlements.
