Eastman Kodak Company (Kodak) is engaged primarily in developing, manufacturing and marketing traditional and digital imaging products, services and solutions to consumers, the entertainment industry, professionals, healthcare providers and other customers. As of December 31, 2004, the Company had five business segments: Digital & Film Imaging Systems (D&FIS), Health, Commercial Imaging, Graphic Communications and All Other. In January 2004, Kodak acquired Scitex Digital Printing, renamed Kodak Versamark. In May 2004, Kodak acquired Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG's (Heidelberg) 50% interest in NexPress Solutions LLC. Kodak also acquired NexPress GmbH, a German subsidiary of Heidelberg that provides engineering and development support. In August 2004, Kodak sold its Remote Sensing Systems operation. In September 2004, Kodak purchased the imaging business of National Semiconductor Corporation, which develops and manufactures complimentary metal oxide semiconductor image sensor devices.
