EchoStar Communications Corporation (ECC) is a provider of satellite-delivered digital television to customers across the United States through its digital information sky highway (DISH) Network. DISH Network services include hundreds of video, audio and data channels, interactive television channels, digital video recording, high-definition television, international programming, professional installation and 24-hour customer service. At December 31, 2004, the DISH Network had approximately 10.905 million subscribers. The Company has nine in-orbit satellites that enable it to offer over 2,000 video and audio channels to consumers across the United States. Through its wholly owned subsidiary, EchoStar Technologies Corporation (ETC), the Company designs and develops direct broadcast satellite (DBS) set-top boxes, antennae and other digital equipment for the DISH Network. ETC also designs, develops and distributes similar equipment for international satellite service providers.
